Task Two Final Piece

These are some of the photos of my pyramid made for my poster. As well as experimenting with artificial lighting using lamps i edited the photos on photoshop adjusting the levels. Adding sharpness to the photos and sometimes just fiddling with lighting effects etc.. these aren't all of them as some are in my sketchbook and some wouldn't upload for a strange reason so i put a range of what i could on.

Below is how my final poster will look. Using the one lamp on the right hand side to create a light and dark side of the pyramid and then on photoshop edited it by changing the levels to my preference and adding a lighting effect called soft omni creating a gentle glow around the pyramid.

Task Two Mock-Up

Here is some photographs of my mock-up for my final piece in task two. This is a smaller version at 15cm compared to the bigger one at 30cm. This one is made from white paper and doesnt have the type cut out simply because i didn't see the need to cut it out as i could easily imagine what it would look like with the type cut out of the final thing.

I wanted it to relate to my first piece in task one so i stuck with doing the veiny, leaf effects in two sides of the triangle just leaving the other side for the type to be cut out. The type is going to be all in capitals and be in a serif style. I hand drew different types in my sketchpad so i could try out different ones and see which i prefered and what would suit for the nature of the poster.

All these images are of my final piece for task one. I used artificial light for all my photographs of it. I used two large lamps and placed them at either side one further away than the other so one would create a subtle background light and the other one would be brighter. I then made it so the lamps were evenly lighting the structure. Then experimented with just the one lamp and seeing the effects the dark bold shadows would have in contrast to the structure.

Below are some of the images i took just using one large lamp. i wanted to see the effect of the shadow from the shape. I find it creates quite a menacing sharp jagged effect. I also thought it might create a nice effect from the cut away parts on some of the pyramids to have a shadow showing the details.

These couple i photographed showing the 'branch' within what would be a natural environment if it were a real branch. i think the colours look quite interesting and makes the green stand out well.

The Images below are of my final structure whilst being hung by white cotton. I have taken a range of different photographs doing close ups as well as fitting the whole structure on the photograph.
